表面はブラック×オフホワイトのモノトーン調のボディに、月夜に咆哮する虎を配した、まさに「THE スカジャン」と呼ぶにふさわしい王道の絵柄。1950年代中期の作品をもとに、刺繍の針足を巧みに使い分けながら、虎の毛並みや筋骨隆々とした体躯を写実的に表現している。黒いサテン生地に映えるコントラストの強い配色が、迫り来るような迫力と躍動感を生み出している。背中の「JAPAN」の文字は、ヴィンテージでも人気の高いオリエンタルなフォントを再現。

リバーシブル面は、長い胴体を雲間に隠しながら大空を浮遊する龍の絵柄。ブラックを基調とした単色刺繍ながら、顔や鱗の縁取りにグレーの色糸を重ねることで立体感を強調している。風にたなびく龍の鬣（たてがみ）は、細いラインの横振り刺繍で繊細に描写。身頃より袖下の色が濃い、通称「逆配色」と呼ばれる仕様で、白いボディに黒い龍のコントラストが際立つ仕上がりとなっている。

ACETATE SOUVENIR JACKET

スーベニアジャケットの中でも最もスタンダードとされる、両面にアセテート生地を使用したリバーシブルタイプ。戦後当時のスカジャンには、シルクに似た高級感を持つ物資統制外品目のアセテートが用いられていた。中綿を入れない仕様のため季節を問わず着用でき、アセテート特有の美しいドレープ感も魅力のひとつとなっている。

The front features a black × off-white monochrome body with a roaring tiger under a moonlit sky—an iconic, orthodox design that truly embodies “THE Sukajan.” Based on mid-1950s originals, the embroidery skillfully varies stitch density to realistically depict the tiger’s fur, powerful musculature, and imposing presence. The high-contrast color scheme stands out sharply against the black satin fabric, creating a sense of motion and an almost lunging intensity. The “JAPAN” lettering on the back recreates an oriental-style font highly favored in vintage pieces.

The reversible side depicts a dragon with its long body partially concealed among clouds as it drifts through the open sky. Though executed primarily in black embroidery, gray thread is layered along the outlines of the face and scales to enhance depth and dimensionality. The dragon’s flowing mane is delicately rendered with fine-line sukajan-style embroidery. This side features the so-called “reverse color scheme,” where the under-sleeve panels are darker than the body, creating a striking contrast between the white base and the black dragon motif.

This is the most standard form of souvenir jacket, featuring a fully reversible design with acetate fabric on both sides. In the postwar era, acetate—an unrestricted material with a luxurious, silk-like appearance—was commonly used for sukajan. The absence of padding allows for year-round wear, while the distinctive drape unique to acetate adds to its appeal.
