ダイワは、フラッグシップに平穏を求めない。なれ合いはしない。常にフィッシングシーンのフロントランナーであってほしいと願っている。
EXIST SF――誤解を恐れずにいうなら、優等生ではない。EXISTのフィロソフィーを継承しつつも、そこに常識はない。バーサタイルではなく一点突破。目指したのは、フィネスを超えるスーパーフィネス。
エアドライブデザイン、フルメタル（Mg製）モノコックボディ、マグシールドといったEXISTの基本性能は維持したまま、ギリギリまで追い込んでチューニングしている。ターゲットを、4lb（フロロ・ナイロン）もしくは0.6号（PE）以下のラインを用いたバス、トラウト、ライトソルトに絞り込み、徹底的にコンパクト化・軽量化。そのために一定レベルの耐久性・防水性は削ぎ落としたが、それらによって得られる対価は、いまだだれも踏み入れたことのない領域。
これまでのフィネスの限界域をはるかに超えたその先で、心に描いたイメージどおりにルアーが軌道を描く“操縦性”は、魚との一対一の濃密な時間をもたらせてくれるだろう。ギリギリまで絞り込んだ自重は、過剰な力を加えなくても振り抜けるキャスティング性能となって、飛距離と精度に貢献する。手のひらに包み込めるようなコンパクトなボディは、繊細なタッチでのフェザリングを可能にし、狙い通りのアプローチを約束してくれるだろう。ショートスプールはATD TYPE-Lによるラインのスムーズな滑り出しを、より高度な次元まで昇華させた。

To put it bluntly, the EXIST SF is not a crowd-pleaser. While it inherits the core philosophy of EXIST, it completely shatters conventional wisdom. While maintaining the fundamental performance features of the EXIST—such as the Airdrive Design, full-metal (Magnesium) Monocoque Body, and Magsealed technology—this reel has been tuned and pushed to its absolute limits. By narrowing the target strictly to bass, trout, and light saltwater fishing using lines under 4 lb (fluorocarbon/nylon) or #0.6 (PE), the body has been thoroughly downsized and lightened. To achieve this, a certain level of durability and water resistance was stripped away—but what is gained in return is a realm where no angler has ever set foot before.
